Clinical Supervision

Perinatal mental health is a specialized area of practice that requires nuanced judgement, a keenly sensitive clinical presence, and an instinct to go deeper than symptom management.

Many therapists fall flat with perinatal clients when they don’t adequately address the biological, psychological, relational, developmental, cultural, and systemic realities of the perinatal period.

I offer clinical supervision to therapists who want to

  • Learn more about perinatal mental health and gain more confidence in treating clients with perinatal mental health disorders
  • Deepen their understanding of matrescence and maternal identity development
  • Work more relationally and insightfully with their clients
  • Integrate a feminist lens that considers power, culture, gender, and societal constructs

I especially enjoy providing supervision for clinicians who are on their own perinatal and parenting journeys, as parenting inevitably changes one’s approach to and engagement with clinical work.

My approach to supervision is collaborative and reflective. Your clinical competence and professional identity will be fully supported while we keep ethics, client safety, and clinical practice central to our work.
